Portrait Photographers

Richard Avedon was enthralled with interesting faces. The images I found on google by him are all black and white, and focus on the details, textures, and oddities inherent to a person's face. All of his photographs are done in the studio, and give a look more at character, rather than emotion. I don't have any dates for the pictures I saw, but they all look ahead of their time.
This man looks displeased with his situation.
He's not angry, but he's not content with his chair,
or clothes, or being photographed. He is a downer.

President Kennedy and Mrs. Kennedy have come out
to get their photo taken. They look like they like they are
enjoying themselves. Their demeanor is a nice change from
the last man.

I like the amount of this guy in the picture.
It gives a good impression of him, and what he does.

This is Andy Warhol. This is also the only
thing involving Andy Warhol that I like.
Richard Avedon managed to show how different
Andy Warhol is, without making it absolutely ludicrous.

This is probably the closest Frank Zappa has
ever come to being normal. I would congratulate
Richard Avedon for making Frank Zappa look
entirely different from his usual appearance.
